In response to misinterpretations the American Psychiatric Affiliation considers pedophilia a sexual orientation due to wording in its printed DSM-5 guide, which distinguishes amongst paraphilia and what it calls "paraphilic ailment", subsequently forming a division of "pedophilia" and "pedophilic condition", the Affiliation commented: "'[S]exual o
